What’s the reality of dating during MBBS

Med school dating? It’s kind of like trying to find a Wi-Fi signal in a basement, possible but with some serious struggles. When I first thought about dating during MBBS, I imagined cute coffee dates and long walks between classes. Reality check: it’s mostly about stolen moments and managing crazy schedules.

Our days were packed with lectures, clinical rotations, and mountains of notes. Sometimes the only time we got was a quick “Hey, how are you surviving today?” text while both of us were half-asleep. Explaining why you can’t go out on Valentine’s Day because of an exam is honestly one of the most common heartbreaks.

But here’s the thing - the small moments made it special. Like sneaking in a five-minute call before a ward round or sharing a quick laugh over hospital cafeteria food that somehow tasted worse every time.

And honestly, the best part was having someone who understood the madness without needing a full explanation. Med school crushes are a rollercoaster but if both people get the chaos, it’s kind of magical. So yeah, dating is possible but expect it to be messy, sweet, stressful, and absolutely memorable.
